I was formerly an associate editor at Rogue magazine.
The Manila Review
I am the managing editor of The Manila Review, a review publication based out of Manila. The publication is a non-profit project that aims to map the ideas that shape public discussion in the Philippines.
Broadsheet Melbourne is one of Melbourne's most trusted and well-curated city guides, taking locals (and tourists) through the best of the city's cafes, performances, festivals, and weekends. For a few months, I was a contributing writer and an intern for the publication.
A selection of features and reviews from my work in Metro (Australia), Esquire (Philippines), and Paper Sea Quarterly (Australia).
"Tales from the Islands: Raya Martin and Contemporary Philippine Film", published in Metro Magazine, Issue 180.
"Metro magazine is published by Australian Teachers of Media, (ATOM). ATOM also publishes Screen Education magazine; study guides and education kits; The Moving Image series of monographs; and websites for feature films, documentaries and television programs. ATOM also runs The Education Shop and The Speakers Bureau."
"Walden Bello: The Deglobalizer," co-authored with Leloy Claudio, published in Esquire Philippines, December 2011.
Esquire is a magazine that focuses on a more refined group—men that are successful in their chosen fields but still strive to achieve more; who want to stay informed, but cannot hope to with their busy schedules. Men who, no matter where they live, need a filter to provide them with only the sharp, relevant content to help them live up to the lofty ideal: “Man at His Best.”
My work has been published in Australian publications including Papersea Quarterly, The Lifted Brow, Voiceworks, Above Water, and Fragmented.

Philippine Daily Inquirer
In 2011 and 2012, I ran a weekly column called "Mama Says Mercy" in the Saturday edition of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the most widely read broadsheet in the Philippines. In line with the section, I wrote about pop culture, "myself," and ideas that take me inside and around Manila.
